Repairs scheme for 64 properties in St Mary's Conservation area, Nelson; Improved lighting in Rushton Close, Nelson; provision of infra-red security lights for 50 sheltered housing properties and installation of drop kerbs to promote off road parking/ child safety and reduction in vehicle crime.
Latest for Blackburn Elevate East Lancashire programmes launched/completed by April 2004 include:
Pathways to the Park housing renewal scheme for Queens Park – facelift for Victorian homes on main approach to area almost complete and phase two underway. The project aims to tackle impact of industrial pollution by stone cleaning and re-pointing and ultimately raise the area’s profile, encourage private investment and create new pride in the park and surrounding area.
Latest for Burnley: Elevate East Lancashire programmes launched/completed by April 2004 include:
Environmental improvements across the borough; clearance in three priority areas; energy improvement grants issued; security improvements and facelifting scheme for properties in Burnley Wood. Elevate cash also supported the introduction of alleygating for a number of Burnley streets.
Latest for Rossendale: Elevate East Lancashire programmes launched/completed by April 2004 include:
Facelifts for 38 properties in Newchurch Road after Elevate provided extra funding. Clearance work on Pennine Road estate is almost complete. Further funding provided by Elevate to buy final shop on Hawthorn Road and pave way for complete clearance stage.

Range of security measures implemented at 400 homes and acceleration of plans to demolish unpopular terraced homes in West Accrington. Elevate cash has also been used to supplement house improvement and renovation work in Scaitcliffe. Elevate also funded preparation of a regeneration masterplan covering West Accrington, Church, Clayton and Enfield areas.
